Van Lancker Wim

Bio

I am a multimedia specialist turned social scientist, holding a bachelor’s degree in Multimedia and Communication Technology (University College West-Flanders) and a master’s degree in Political Sciences (Ghent University). Currently I work as an Assistant Professor in Social Work and Social Policy affiliated with the Centre for Sociological Research (CESO) at the University of Leuven. I am also affiliated with the Herman Deleeck Centre for Social Policy at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow of the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO).

My main research topics are family policy (childcare, parental leave and child benefits) and its social distribution, poverty and social inequality, female labour market participation and gender equality, and the social investment state. Articles on these topics have appeared in Journal of European Social Policy, Acta Sociologica, Journal of Social Policy and European Societies amongst others. Book chapters have appeared with Oxford University Press and Palgrave.
