Verhaeghe Pieter-Paul
Bio
Pieter-Paul Verhaeghe is assistant professor in Sociology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium. In 2012 he successfully defended his PhD about the (re)producing role of social capital for ethnic and socio-economic inequalities in health and in the labour market entrance. His current research interests include migration, discrimination, poverty, evidence-based policy making, social mobility, residential segregation and urban planning. Pieter-Paul Verhaeghe is an invited expert member of two official governmental committees (in Flanders and Brussels) to provide policy advise about tackling discrimination on the housing and labour markets. In addition, he is regularly invited as a speaker in (inter)national debates, symposia or panel discussions about discrimination, migration and social inequality.
