Imeraj Lena
Bio
Lena Imeraj is a junior researcher at Interface Demography, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. She obtained a master degree in Sociology and currently works on a PhD, funded by Research Foundation Flanders (FWO). Her research focuses on demographic and social processes shaping segregation patterns in urban areas in Belgium. Besides, she participates in two related projects; (i) ResSegr-project, funded by JPI Urban Europe, is an international comparative study on segregation patterns in urban areas using geocoded data and recently developed software to construct egocentric scalable neighbourhoods; (ii) Cities and Newcomers, a VUB interdisciplinary project that focusses on changing migration patterns within a rapidly transforming urban society and on the modes of regulation developed to cope with the associated challenges.
