BSI Thesis Award 2024
Apply now for the BSI Thesis Award 2024!
The call for submissions closes on Tuesday 5 March.
In 2016, the Brussels Studies Institute launched the BSI Thesis Award, which is awarded yearly to a master thesis regarding the Brussels urban area. – The winner will receive a check for €2,000. The jury reserves itself the right to award additional prizes to outstanding master theses that make a particular contribution to the knowledge about Brussels. During a public event in the fall of 2024, the candidates will have the opportunity to present their research before the laureate is announced.
Eligibility for the BSI Thesis Award 2024
To be eligible, the master thesis must have been defended in the academic year 2022-2023. The master thesis has to be drafted in French, Dutch or English. There are no restrictions with regards to scientific disciplines, but the focus of the thesis clearly has to be on the Brussels urban area. Master theses with an interdisciplinary dimension will be regarded more favourably, although it is not a necessary condition for application.
The Brussels Studies Institute is sovereign in its decision to award the Prizes based on the applications received. Prizes are not necessarily awarded.
