Bio
Ruth Wauters is a PhD fellow of the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) and PhD researcher within the interdisciplinary research project ‘Cities and Newcomers: Regulating Neighbourhoods of Arrival in Periods of Urban Transition, 1880-1914 and 1980-2015’. Her main interest is in the physical and social transformation of urban neighbourhoods due to migration and the conflicts related to these transformations. Empirically, her current focus is on Brussels in the late nineteenth century as well as the late twentieth and early twenty-first century.
