Bio
Kato Van Speybroeck is a human geographer and anthropologist who is interested in exploring how human-environmental relations are shaped and governed in an urban context. This leads her to examine environmental activism through everyday practices, forms of knowledge and reasoning that influence the way various urban actors act differently upon contested green spaces. She is currently working on an interdisciplinary PhD project at the Public Governance Institute and Division of Geography at the University of Leuven that focuses on environmental activism in Brussels.
