Bio

Dr. Lior Volinz is a post-doctoral researcher at the Crime and Society (CRiS) research group of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium). His research interest includes surveillance and policing technologies, digital governance and the privatization and pluralization of security provision. Lior is working as a lead researcher in the Innoviris-funded research project ‘Producing Urban Legibility: Mobile City Applications
and the Local Governance of Minor Offences’, which focuses on the role of new digital interfaces, such as mobile city applications, in transforming how citizens and local authorities report and resolve incidents of urban disorder and minor offenses.
