Bio

Joeri Vermeulen holds the position of Head of the Midwifery Department at Erasmus Brussels University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Belgium, and is a researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Brussels, Belgium. In addition, he serves as a guest lecturer in the Master program Research in Female Reproduction at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. Furthermore, he contributes as the Associate Editor of the European Journal of Midwifery.
Beyond his academic commitments, he actively participates as a Board Member of the Belgian Midwives Association and the Flemish Professional Organisation of Midwives. Moreover, he represents Belgium as a delegate in the European Midwives Association. His research focuses primarily on midwifery education and the professionalization of midwifery.
