Melgaço Lucas
Bio
Lucas Melgaço is a Professor at the Department of Criminology and is a former post-doctoral researcher at the same department.
His main scientific interests are in the domains of surveillance, public order, social movements and protests, policing, urban criminology, social geography, and in the relationships between information and communication technologies, space and security.
He has also worked on translating and introducing the theories of the Brazilian scholar Milton Santos to the English-speaking community.
Lucas is editor-in-chief of the journal Criminological Encounters.
