Bio

Simon Boone has a doctorate in sociology (UGent, 2013). He is mainly interested in research on social inequalities in education. He worked at the Universiteit Gent from 2008 to 2013, where he researched social inequalities in the transition from primary to secondary school. Then he worked at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel from 2014 to September 2019 where he was research coordinator of the SBO project Transbaso and then of the ASP2030 Steunpunt Hoger Onderwijs project. Since October 2019 he is the director of the Brussels Studies Institute.
