Nele Aernouts is assistant professor of Housing and Urbanism at the Cosmopolis Centre for Urban Research. Since 2013 she has been conducting (action) research on housing initiatives and planning processes that try to address the needs of people experiencing problems on the housing market. Her research tries to comprehend how such initiatives and processes are perceived and lived by local inhabitants, as well as how these relate to the right to housing, spatial agency and alternative imaginaries on the production of space.
