Brussels is candidate to become the European Capital of Culture in 2030.
To prepare for this candidacy with the people most concerned – the inhabitants of Brussels – we organise each year the Summer Assembly, a week full of activities to explore what a European Capital of Culture could (or should) mean for Brussels: keynotes, panel discussions, co-creation workshops, debates, field trips, etc. We invite all Brussels residents who want to help give substance to the Brussels Capital of Culture project to take part in preparing Brussels’ candidacy. So come and join us between Wednesday 28 June and Sunday 2 July 2023 at Les Halles de Schaerbeek!
The Summer Assembly is organised by the Brussels2030 non-profit association, which is responsible for the candidacy of Brussels Capital of Culture 2030, in close collaboration with the Réseau des Arts Bruxelles-Brussels Kunsten Overleg (RAB-BKO), the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), weKONEKT.brussels, the Brussels Academy, the Brussels Studies Institute (BSI), Les Halles de Schaerbeek, the Maison Des Arts and community centre De Kriekelaar.
All Summer Assembly activities are free and open to anyone wishing to share their experiences and ideas on Brussels. To register and for more information visit: https://brussels2030.be/join-the-brussels2030-summer-assembly-2023/
