
Study Day: Brussels for children

The BSI is collaborating with local associations and field practitioners to host a study day devoted to imagining a city that is more welcoming for its youngest citizens.
Come to “Brussels for Children” on 19 June 2025 at Pianofabriek (Saint-Gilles) to exchange experiences and explore concrete solutions for a truly child-friendly Brussels.
Keynote Speaker – Nadja Monnet
Nadja Monnet is an internationally recognised expert on the relationship between childhood and the city.
Her work explores how play spaces evolve through participatory ethnography, urban design and educational sciences.
An urban ethnographer with a PhD in social anthropology, she lectures at ENSA Marseille and conducts research at the CNRS Architecture Anthropology Laboratory (LAA-LAVUE).

10.00 am: Pitches on child-friendly cities – green spaces, air quality, mobility, playfulness, participation
