Alongside the BSI and Brussels Studies, the Brussels Academy is positioned as the third pillar in the dynamics of knowledge exchange in Brussels: the BSI's training "school", but also an initiative of an "urban university" where the interface with Brussels civil society takes shape.

The MOOC "Brussels: Reading the city" is a project initiated by the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), supported by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), the Brussels Studies Institute (BSI) and the Brussels Capital Region.
His academic responsibility lies with a team of academics from ULB and VUB. MOOC will offer (partly free of charge) online education and training modules, going beyond the many clichés about Brussels, in order to better understand this complex but challenging global city-region.
It will be the first interdisciplinary and inter-university academic course entirely dedicated to the study of Brussels.
