Bio
Jean-Philippe De Visscher is an architectural engineer graduated from Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium. He holds a Ph.D. in architecture with a thesis named “Indivision”. Through a study of the history of Brussels, this work explores the use of urban projects as Trojan horses able to impact the relations of power between different categories of stakeholders. De Visscher is a professor at the UCL in Brussels where he teaches architecture, landscape and urbanism in various studios and seminars. His research interests focus on research by design in the field of territorial planning. De Visscher’s practicing experience includes design and project management of public buildings and collective housings in Brussels, urban design competitions and small-scale intervention in the public space. He is the co-founder of KIS studio (Keep It Simple studio).
